I especially enjoy being near West Rock, with its lovely city views and plenty of trails for walking and running. The Austin St Inn is also close to New Haven, which makes it convenient when we come to see family. My husband and I have stayed several times. The house has been beautifully restored, and the owner and caretakers are warm, gracious people. Breakfast is simple, but there are always good choices and it’s delicious.

The staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful, and the rooms felt cozy and homey. This small, beautifully refurbished building felt more like staying with friends than being at a hotel. It’s LGBT friendly too.

The neighborhood is quiet, and the breakfast was great. The rooms and shared spaces are lovely, and the hosts made us feel welcome. It’s a charming restored clapboard house with a wraparound porch.
