Super 8 Lynnwood

We stayed at this motel for 21 days, and most of the staff treated us very well. The exception was the night manager, who was extremely rude. One night we were in the hospital, and she moved our things out of the room. We were then told we couldn't stay there anymore. They kept our belongings and said we had to pay for the day she moved everything before we could get them back. I owed $55 and was willing to pay, but Mathew said it had to be paid in full. We were told the food had gone in the garbage, which I find hard to believe. There was over $200 worth of food we had bought the day before, plus two bottles of shampoo costing $35 each, our bathroom shaving items, and a new trimmer I'd gotten for Christmas. We never got any of it back. The staff are good people apart from the one person I mentioned, but this didn't feel like good customer service. I think people considering a stay should know what happened to us.

The smell in my room was the one thing I didn't like. At first I thought it was a cheap air freshener, then realized most of it seemed to come from the sheets, maybe a laundry additive. Ugh. I chose this place for its location and low price, and was worried when I first saw how old it looked. But the room was very clean, with a good bed and decent linens. The towels were skimpy, though. There was no hair dryer, but the front desk promptly lent me one.

The room felt and smelled fresh and clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable and clean too. We were shown to it with several offers of help. The night staff guy was great, and the front foyer also looked and smelled clean. We booked because the hotel was near the area we needed and the price was good, but I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the stay was. I'd recommend it and stay again.

The place is run down, but clean. The rooms had the basics, a mini fridge, microwave, and TV, and everything worked.
