New Haven Hotel

The room was quiet, the shower had good pressure, and the towels were a nice size, but the beds were hard and I didn’t sleep comfortably. Breakfast meant buying fruit, cereal, or similar items from the kiosk by reception. Parking is in the covered garage across the street for $35/night, and the spaces are tight. It wasn’t busy when we were there, luckily. We picked the hotel for its location and found it average. We walked to the Omni for dinner, passing homeless people on the block between. The next day, while we waited for a nearby restaurant to open, someone asked us for money and made rude comments when we didn’t answer. He also made an offensive sexual remark to another group waiting there.

The parking setup was my favorite part: for twenty something dollars a night, the garage connects to the hotel by a walkway, and you need a card to get in or out. The rooms are clean and simply designed, and the rates are a steal. Staff were very friendly and explained everything thoroughly. The hotel is within walking distance of a lot of places and has partnerships with restaurants for discounts and other small perks. There’s also a little self-checkout spot in the lobby for snacks and drinks.

I’d recommend it, 10/10. Right when I walked in, the service was immediate, and I had one of my best interactions with the staff. Stephanie was a great host. I also met Lydia from the cleaning team, who was really helpful and had a great personality.

After a dreadful night, New Haven Hotel felt like a real bright spot. Our rental car broke down, leaving me stranded on the street with my six children, and I’d lost faith in customer service. When we finally arrived, Diahama greeted us so warmly. She helped arrange rooms, listened to what had happened, and made us feel at home and at ease. Thank you for being there for us ❤️
