Days Inn by Wyndham New Market Battlefield

The front desk woman was the only good part of staying here. There was no hot water, and the bathroom door wouldn't close because the toilet bought for the room was too big. The top sheet had a large bloodstain. When I asked for a clean one, the desk worker said management didn't trust her with the laundry keys. This place needs new management, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

There was a broken door lock, and guests were slamming doors and shouting outside at all hours. The beds were small and hard, with very worn sheets, and the musty smell was everywhere. Dead roaches, live flies, and stinkbugs were around the place. The walls and floors had crud smeared on them, and the thin washcloths and towels had revolting stains. There were only enough towels for two people, though three were on the reservation. Staff had no spare pillows and said all the hairdryers had been given to guests. I'd never recommend staying here, and I won't return.

I couldn't stay and would rather sleep at a rest area down the highway. I took pictures of what I found in room 206. The mattresses were stained, including one with what looked like blood, and there were blood marks on the ironing board. Water was standing because of clogged hair, and I found mold and bugs too. On arrival, I was told breakfast wasn't available, despite the website advertising it. The rooms also lacked the coffee makers and microwaves listed online. I'm having the conditions investigated, both to try to get my money back and because exposure to this could be a real health concern.

The mountains made for a beautiful view, and the location was quiet. The room seemed updated and newer. The air conditioner smelled at first, but after running it for a while the odor went away. The free continental breakfast was coffee and muffins.
