Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans Warehouse Arts District

The hotel was peaceful and quiet, just right for a couple's break after long days out. My partner and I stayed for two days and felt looked after from the moment we arrived. Check-in was smooth, and everyone we met was kind, attentive, and ready to help. The room was spotless, fresh, and well organized. Housekeeping clearly cares about the work. The bed was so comfortable that we both slept better than we had in weeks. It was a wonderful stay, and we'd absolutely come back.

We were at the hotel for a conference, and the location near the convention center was excellent. The staff were lovely, always smiling and saying hello when we came and went. The rest of the stay, though, was disappointing. We were charged $50 for early check-in. They said it would be free if I joined the rewards program. Since the room was ready, I wish they'd simply welcomed me to Marriott and waived the fee instead of making it conditional. The heat and AC didn't work properly, so we had to set it to 90 just to stop the room feeling freezing, and the fan was extremely loud. We weren't in the room much and had earplugs, which helped. The hotel's "restaurant" served only a very limited breakfast, and the room service menu was for another place. On Friday night, we could hear music and feel vibrations through the walls, echoing around the courtyard. We must have been near a concert hall or something. Glad I didn't sign up for the rewards card.

The biggest problem was the noise from Republic NOLA across the street. The music shook the walls and windows until well after 2 a.m., and laser lights lit up the room. I called the front desk and the police twice, but neither helped. If you stay here, demand a room away from the club. The service was below what I expect from a Courtyard. Rooms were serviced only every three days, even though the price stayed high. Trash overflowed, the tiny bar of soap was gone, and beds were left unmade. After I complained, the hotel did agree to service the room. They didn't recognize my Titanium status, and there were no bottles of water in the room. I picked the hotel because it was just a five-minute walk from the convention center.

Tyler at the front desk and Webster, the valet supervisor, made our Mardi Gras visit. They showed real southern hospitality and made us out-of-towners feel at home. The rooms could use slightly better lighting, but their service alone would bring me back. Thank you, Tyler and Webster!
