DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans

The building was immaculate and beautifully kept, and the housekeeping team was impressively flexible. Even when I didn’t leave my room until 11:30 AM or noon, they still came in and refreshed everything. I’ve traveled extensively for over 20 years and stayed in countless hotels, but this was hands-down my best hotel experience. From arrival on, every staff member went above and beyond. The receptionists were pleasant, helpful, and accommodating, and the bartenders, valets, and concierges were all phenomenal. I’d recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans to anyone visiting the city. I’d even travel back just to stay here again.

We had a four-day stay in May 2026 and were very impressed with this recently upgraded Doubletree By Hilton in the CBD, close to the French Quarter. Our room was spotless and well appointed. The dining room is small, but it has an impressive menu and good dinner choices. Breakfast offered several delicious buffet items, along with the option to order from a menu. Executive Chef Andy Moreau stopped by our table for a chat, which was a nice touch. We were also impressed by him and his staff member Denford that morning. We highly recommend staying here.

For a pre-cruise night, the location was ideal: near the port, French Quarter, outlets, and Riverwalk, and you can even walk to the port. We got coffee and pastries at the reasonably priced PJ’s Coffee on the ground floor, and they were good quality. Our rooms were comfortable and clean, though not luxurious, and suited us well for one night. The property shows some wear, but everything was clean. We arrived around noon before the rooms were ready, so we left our luggage and went to explore. The receptionist was kind and helped arrange two connecting rooms for our family despite our separate reservations. We got a call around 2:30 p.m. that they were ready, earlier than expected, and check-in was quick. The warm chocolate chip cookies were delicious. One minibar water bottle had been opened and partly used. I told the front desk, and they apologized and handled it professionally, waiving the charge for a replacement bottle. Friendly service and convenience made this a great option, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Antoinette at the front desk and the dining area staff were kind, patient, and helpful throughout our stay. They were a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating visit. The ADA room we booked for my wheelchair-bound husband had a roll-in shower and the right turning radius in the bathroom, but the bedroom didn’t have enough space for wheelchair turns or a T-turn. The unobstructed 36” lanes ADA requires for a T-turn were only about 30” in our room, making it very hard for him to move around or reach the bed safely and comfortably. I’ve stayed at multiple Hilton properties and never had this issue. Even rooms with two queen beds have had enough room for maneuvering, and when a booked roll-in shower wasn’t available elsewhere, Hilton properties had relocated us to a room or property that could meet our needs. We weren’t offered that kind of help here. Very few of the outlets worked, which added to the inconvenience. Accessible features are essential, and a room advertised as ADA-compliant should meet those standards. I hope the hotel addresses this so other guests don’t face the same challenges.
