Fairfield Inn & Suites New Orleans Downtown

We had a pleasant, quiet stay in a large room with two queen beds. It was fairly updated and clean, though the bathroom sink and vanity looked a little dated. The lobby and breakfast area on the main floor were nice. The location was ideal, within walking distance of the Central Business District, the Superdome, and the French Quarter. The staff, especially at the front desk, were friendly and efficient. I never had to wait for anything. Thank you!

This has to be one of the best Fairfield properties I've stayed at. It's a gorgeous historic conversion, with high ceilings and huge windows that bring in loads of light. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a standard chain. Everything was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. Five stars for the charm and quality!

The front desk workers were nice, and housekeeping did a great job. We're pretty low-maintenance guests, but when my sleep gets disrupted, I turn into a gremlin. We'll be staying somewhere else next year. Avoid room 214, or better yet, ask for a room without a window facing the alley. The shower leaked so badly that water poured out onto the floor. We had to lay several towels along the outside of it, and needed fresh ones every day, even though I don't like using extra towels. The location itself was decent: a few blocks from the French Quarter, but far enough away that the late-night partying wasn't audible. Seems ideal for families or people who like things low-key. The windows and walls are thin enough to hear everything in the alley. Trash gets picked up between 5 am and 5:30 am on Tuesday and Friday. And from 6 am to 8 am, an employee stood by the dumpsters watching TikToks and YouTube at full volume. I'm not a light sleeper, either.

The hotel is less than a mile on foot from the Superdome and Canal Street, with at least two parking garages within two blocks. The surrounding area is dark and a little rough, though not completely rundown. The hotel entrance has a wheelchair ramp, but the nearby sidewalks and crosswalks are quite uneven. My room faced another building, so there wasn't a view. It was clean, with a comfortable bed, and the design was tasteful. The ground-floor seating and dining areas were nice and clean too. Maid service came fairly late compared with other places I've stayed, perhaps sometime between 1 and 3 pm. When they took away used towels, the number of clean ones left behind didn't always match, for example, five used towels might be replaced by three. Asking for more was no problem, though. I've stayed at a few hotels that were less forthcoming with towels when asked.
