We stayed four nights for a visit to the WWII museum, which is right across the street, so the location was perfect. The room was spacious, clean, and remarkably quiet. Once inside, we didn’t hear a thing. Staff were friendly and helpful, and Julia at Cafe Normandie was especially professional and friendly, going out of her way to accommodate us. There’s also a parking garage next to the hotel. For a trip centered on the WWII museum, this is definitely the place to stay.

The Higgins Hotel’s Art Deco design is spectacular, with a beautiful nod to the WWII era. Details throughout, from the lobby murals to the period-inspired room decor, feel thoughtfully chosen. It’s elegant, historic, and very comfortable. Staying here while visiting the WWII Museum makes the whole experience feel complete. Five stars for the style and soul of this place.

The rooftop bar is worth a visit for an after-dinner drink, and breakfast was very good. The restaurant was closed over Memorial Day weekend, but we got good food in the bar area instead. Parking was easy in the self-park WWII garage next door. The hotel is beautiful, the room immaculate and comfortable, and everyone was friendly and helpful, from the concierge and porter to the bartenders, wait staff, and front desk. Highly recommended.

Rebecca ran our event and seemed to anticipate every need before we even knew to ask. She was fantastic, and I hope the Higgins recognizes the work she did. The other attendants were wonderful too. The food was outstanding, especially the lamb lollipops, and the tables were kept stocked with fresh quantities. We hosted our event in the WWII Higgins Hotel Patriot Room, a comfortable, roomy space decorated in patriotic colors. Patton's grand piano was kept perfectly tuned, and there were audio visual aids available. The seating was ample and comfortable.

The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and I had no complaints about that side of the hotel. My main issue was the front desk service during my four-night stay. The staff repeatedly came across as cold, unfriendly, and sometimes unprofessional. Requests were handled with little warmth. When I asked for a 30-minute late checkout, I was told, “we are running a business here.” Even if the answer was no, a more considerate response would have helped. Other interactions felt transactional and sometimes confrontational, and getting a package from the mail room was unnecessarily rigid and uncomfortable. The shower gel also had an unpleasant, sticky texture that didn’t fit the otherwise good room standard. At this price, the service and front desk attitude didn’t meet expectations. Hospitality should be part of the experience. I wouldn’t return unless the service culture and approach to customers improve.
