International House Hotel

My husband and I have stayed at the International House many times when visiting New Orleans, and the hotel and front desk staff have always been great. But this last visit, some very expensive things went missing from our room. We waited until we got home to check they hadn't been left there, and they hadn't. It took several calls over four days before we were told there were no key entries and the incident report was being closed. The investigation didn't seem to matter much to them. I accept that we should have used the in-room safe, but I don't feel they properly checked whether anyone entered while we were out. Our room wasn't supposed to get housekeeping during the stay, yet their records showed it had been serviced, and they couldn't say when. That seemed questionable. They didn't review the cameras, and we're left out thousands of dollars. As much as we liked the hotel before, we won't stay again.

The bed was comfortable, and the room was so quiet I never heard anyone next door or above us. But the regular queen room was the smallest hotel room I've ever had, with just a bed and side tables, no chair or desk. When we arrived around 9 pm, there was nobody there for valet parking.

I've stayed here several times now, after first coming for a staycation, and the beds keep bringing me back. The rooms are kept quite cold at night, but the comforters make sleeping warm and cozy. The mattress feels almost like memory foam and gives me some of the best sleep I've had at a hotel. I also love the artwork, especially the glass face wall at the gym entrance. Everyone I've dealt with, from the front desk and bar to housekeeping and facilities, has been lovely and helpful. The view is nice, and cafes and food spots are close by. I'd recommend it for a comfortable staycation or a safe place to stay while visiting NOLA.

We hosted meetings here as well as stayed at the International House Hotel, and the whole experience went smoothly. The staff were professional and accommodating while we planned and during the visit, and it was easy for guests to get around from the convenient location. The meeting spaces were beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. The property was exceptionally clean too, which made a strong first impression. We'd definitely return for future events.
