Loft 523 New Orleans

Everything was close enough that I barely needed Uber, though I don’t mind walking. Bourbon street took about 15 minutes on foot, and the main street, Canal, was maybe five minutes away. I walked to four booked tours and even to the superdome to see the saints play. If you’re younger and happy to walk, it’s a great location. I loved it, and for me everything was about a 15 or 20 minute walk.

The balcony was a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance of Canal Street and Bourbon Street while still being quiet enough for a peaceful night’s sleep. The room was spotless, spacious, and nicely decorated, with artistic lighting that gave it a luxurious feel. The bed was unusually comfortable, and I made good use of the separate bathtub. The restroom was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed. I had such a hard time leaving. The hospitality and attention to detail stood out compared with my other hotel stays. As a military veteran, I notice these things, and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Chris at the front desk and Leslie Hubbard, the director, went out of their way to make sure the guests I met felt welcome and acknowledged beyond check-in. They were welcoming, professional, and attentive throughout. This was the second hotel I stayed at during my two weeks in New Orleans, but it’s the only one I want to return to. I’d recommend it for a getaway, business trip, or family vacation.

This was our second stay at Loft 523. Some things about check-in have changed, but the staff are still friendly and helpful. Chris is a hoot, and we really appreciated his hospitality. There’s construction going on right now, so ask for a room away from the street if noise bothers you. The location is great for walking to many of New Orleans’ main attractions. There’s also a cute cafe with a bar on the corner of Gravier St. and Camp St. We’ll definitely stay again.

We found a small parking lot right in front of Loft523, and the sister hotel International Hotel is just around the corner. If you expect valet parking, this place probably won’t suit you. But for a spacious room, a gorgeous bathroom, and a quiet evening with your loved one, I highly recommend it. The area is very quiet, and our receptionist Lassandra couldn’t have been nicer or more courteous. The loft had high ceilings, a modern bathroom, a hairdryer, and clean slippers and a robe for your lady. The tub and shower were both modern and really nice. I’d seen reviews claiming the shower drips water and the balcony doors don’t lock, but those claims weren’t true for us. It’s hard to find a room this good in the French quarter, and I almost want to keep these lofts to myself.
