The one person who stood out positively was the front desk worker on 3/23/26. She was genuinely friendly and tried to offer useful suggestions. That effort was appreciated. My husband works in hospitality in housekeeping, and he was especially disappointed by the cleanliness and service standards. We were there for my sister’s wedding, and the stay was deeply disappointing. The room was visibly dirty: unclean floors, toothpicks behind furniture, a worn bathroom with mold, and a broken fridge. I cleaned the room myself with products I’d brought from home. For the price, the room also felt small. We asked to leave right away, but were told there’d be no refund, and felt trapped. The billing was confusing. Three separate charges appeared on our accounts instead of two, and the staff member we asked couldn’t explain the difference. The deposit was charged on check-in day to a different card from the rest of the payment, which my bank flagged as suspicious. This should be explained clearly in advance. The parking area felt unsafe, and the security guard was often absent. Each time we came back late after being out with family, we had to call. The luggage carts were rusty and dirty. We have young children, an 8-year-old, a 19-month-old, and an 8-week-old. We passed staff in the hall several times, but no one greeted us or offered an umbrella in the rain. Nobody checked on us after we complained about the room, even though that was only 20 minutes after arrival. Many staff seemed disengaged. This doesn’t live up to its boutique label. I wouldn’t recommend it, and sincerely hope management takes the feedback seriously.

The best part was the cute courtyard, the French Quarter charm, and Ed’s seafood right next door. Their crab cakes and gumbo were phenomenal, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. There are only limited street parking spots, and the hotel charges $50 for pets and $25 for fenced, monitored parking. I picked this place for the pool and hot tub, which were fine apart from cloudy pool water. The bigger problem was that my room smelled like mold, so I had to move. There was a roach in the second room. I know roaches are around in NOLA near the water, but still, gross. The place wasn’t the cleanest. Next time I’ll try somewhere closer to the action and hopefully cleaner.

The two chefs were my favorite part of the hotel, such sweet women who worked hard to make us feel welcome. Breakfast had plenty of choices to get us fed and caffeinated before exploring. Our first-floor room with two queen beds was clean and cozy, and the staff and security team were friendly and helpful. This was a perfect base for our girls’ week in New Orleans, right in the middle of the sightseeing. It was hot, humid, and rainy, so the air conditioning with a fan setting was especially handy for drying out our clothes and shoes. Highly recommend this neighborhood spot!

The room was spacious, and the TV had most of our favorite channels, especially HGTV and History Channel for pickers. The lobby had water, tea, and coffee available. We checked in at about 3pm at Maison Saint Charles Hotel New Orleans, paying $110 SGD for the night. The hot water was more lukewarm than hot, which was the main room drawback. Since the pool was right in front of us and the storm hadn’t arrived yet, we took a quick swim. The pool water was warm... The hot tub was fabulous, and the pillow-top bed was so comfortable. We felt safe and cared for during the stay. This was a real gem for our first time in New Orleans. The boutique hotel was very clean, and every staff member was incredibly friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to talk to. If you want a hotel that looks perfect and feels cold and upscale, this isn’t for you. But for a family-friendly, clean place with top-notch service, it’s a great fit.
