Royal Palms Motel & RV Park

We stayed in our RV, and the sites were affordable with full hookups and close to everything. The area was secure behind high fences and a locked gate, and management was friendly and really helpful. They welcome dogs at the RV sites too. If you’re bringing a large rig, be aware you’ll still be out in the street when you pull in while they open the locked gate. The neighborhood can feel a little rough after dark, but we had no problems.

The price felt really fair, and the owner was lovely. We stayed five nights in our RV CLASS A and had an excellent time. It’s only about a fifteen minute drive to the French Quarter. We’ll be back next time.

The room wasn’t properly put together, and the closets didn’t have doors. The restroom had roaches, and it wasn’t cleaned well. There was still dirt on the shower floor and walls, and soap left in the shower on our first night. We’re here for Mardi Gras weekend in early February, but the hotel isn’t worth the price, especially at $150 for the weekend. It should be $35 or $40 a night. The Arabic hotel manager was rude and disrespectful. He doesn’t give refunds and didn’t seem interested in helping with a discount.

The hotel is gated, which helped a little with the problems I ran into. The man at the front desk was very polite. I’ve included all the details below in the sections where they fit.
