The room was roomy enough that our child could’ve slept in the living room and still left space for the three of us. It faced a brick wall, but that wasn’t too bad since we usually like a dark room at night. We’d definitely return. Check-in was easy, the location was convenient, and the bar served great drinks and had a shuffleboard table. Valet brought our car around within the 15-minute mark.

The hotel has plenty of local character and sits in a good spot for exploring the city. Staff gave us useful nearby restaurant suggestions. We liked the hotel, though it was disappointing that we could get an extra blanket for only one person when our room was for five.

The suites are colorful, roomy, and thoughtfully decorated. It felt more like a stylish local loft than a regular hotel room, and the cleanliness and staff were great. I also liked the building’s history as an old spice factory. You can still see that industrial character in the exposed brick and high ceilings. The Mercantile is a refreshing change from the usual hotel stay.

For my first visit to New Orleans, this hotel made the trip wonderful. It was clean and beautiful, and the staff treated me so well. There’s valet parking and a nice bar in the lobby. My favorite detail was the record player in the room, with vintage jazz and blues records. With everything there, I barely wanted to leave. 5 stars! 🫶🏻✅✅

We come to New Orleans every May and usually pick somewhere different to get a new experience, but we’d happily return here. The rooms are all suites with separate living areas, the staff we met were kind and helpful, and everywhere we planned to visit was within walking distance. It’s become one of our favorite places to stay. ❤️
