St Charles Coach House, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We came back for a second visit with our toddler, and both stays have been so good that we wanted to leave a review. Parking was what first drew us here, since there are few options in the area, but now we just love the hotel. Housekeeping is important to me, and the room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The bed was cozy with fresh white bedding, and when we’ve reached out, the staff and management have been friendly and accommodating. This time our room looks out on St Charles Ave. I can hear the streetcar, but it isn’t very loud, and I find the sound soothing. It adds charm and didn’t wake anyone in my family. On our first stay, we were toward the back and I don’t remember hearing it. The neighborhood is appealing and interesting, and feels safe at night. We love being able to walk out the front door and catch a streetcar. I highly recommend the area and this hotel.

Parking was the one frustrating part. We arrived late Friday and found that the garage lines need repainting, with several cars occupying two spaces. The second level had plenty of open spots, but it was very dark and there were no signs showing where to go, so we walked down the vehicle ramp to reach the lobby. The hotel itself was nicely decorated with a New Orleans feel. Our room was spacious and clean, the AC was cold, and the sound machine was great since the rooftop bar across the street can be noisy. We only stayed two nights, had enough towels and didn’t need more service, though you do have to ask for the room to be cleaned. The lobby coffee was really good, and there were snacks too. We were there for a dance competition at the convention center.

The staff were easygoing and terrific. When I left my watch behind in a rush, they called to let me know, and I really appreciated that. The room was welcoming, spotless and roomy, with a home-away-from-home feel. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do within walking distance. They clearly put effort into making the stay great, and I’d give it a 10 out of 10. Next time I’m in New Orleans, this will be my go-to. Highly recommended.

This is the best place to stay in NOLA. The rooms are nice and very clean, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Having dedicated parking is a huge bonus, and the streetcar line right across the street made my three-year-old happy. It’s easy to get across the city, everything’s close, and even the airport is less than 20 minutes away. Manager Jeffery was especially kind and helpful after an issue on our last trip caused by a city block power outage, which wasn’t the hotel’s fault. He made sure the rest of our stay was comfortable and arranged things for our next NOLA trip. I’d highly recommend this hotel.
