Stunning Condos Near French Quarter

The stay at Hosteeva Bienville Villas in New Orleans turned into a frightening and disappointing experience with Airbnb. We were moved to another unit at the last minute without warning or any offer of compensation. Getting inside was difficult too, since the host sent several wrong door codes and left us waiting outside for a long time. As soon as we entered, there was a strong smell of mold and mildew. The property manager said there was no mold and called the odor “normal,” but by our last day we found visible mold. Several people in our group sneezed, coughed, had watery eyes, and felt respiratory irritation whenever we went inside. After the trip, multiple people in our party saw doctors and were diagnosed with health issues directly linked to mold exposure at the property. This is a major health and safety violation. The unit was poorly maintained and had pests. We saw roaches, and a lizard crawled up the wall. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the flat sheets they used instead of fitted ones kept coming undone. The staff we met were polite, but the property's condition and lack of proactive solutions undercut their efforts. The host didn't respond when we reported the issues through Airbnb, and management's reassurances about the mold were misleading and irresponsible. This property is a health hazard and isn't worth the risk. If you have respiratory sensitivities or allergies, or expect basic cleanliness and professionalism, avoid it. No vacation is worth compromising your health.
