New Smyrna Beach Hotel & Suites

Room #402 was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful sunrises visible from the bedroom, living room and kitchen area, and balcony. The desk staff weren't what you'd typically expect, though, and the A/C unit needs maintenance.

The view is amazing, and there are two good-sized balconies. The pillows were my one complaint. It's a bit dated and could use a couple of repairs, but with the price and location, I think it's worth it. They also welcome pets.

The view is the only good thing. Bugs are all over the balcony much of the time and get into the rooms, and the place is filthy. The furniture is old, broken, and dusty, and the rooms need major remodeling. Other guests smoke cigarettes and marijuana in their rooms, so ours stank so badly it was hard to breathe. The service was awful. They have hardly any staff and make one guy work the front desk around the clock, and he didn't seem willing to help with anything. Housekeeping felt more like harassment. They acted like it was the end of the world when I needed extra time for a late checkout. I put them in their place, but the manager should be ashamed for not doing the job and wasting my time and money. Have fun staying in this dump. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't get the memo.

Jay made the stay lovely. He was welcoming and accommodating at the front desk, quickly sorted out a problem with my room, and suggested places to eat and things to do in New Smyrna Beach. He's simply the best.
