Best Western Plus New Ulm

The pool was warm and clean, and breakfast was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind, from helping us move our dates because of illness to welcoming us when we arrived. Best hotel I’ve stayed in by far. Thanks, Best Western of New Ulm!

Even with the BW full both nights, it was remarkably quiet. We were amazed by how little noise there was, especially on the first night when it was at capacity. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the friendly staff did all they could to make the stay pleasant. If you can’t relax at the BW New Ulm, I’m not sure where you could.

We were there during a wedding, but the hotel stayed quiet the whole time. It was clean, the staff were good, and the buffet breakfast was good too. You can also walk to Schells Brewery if you want.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the property looks better than it did when I stayed here in 2007. The hotel replied to my earlier review, so I raised it from two stars to three. The property and experience deserved five stars, and I’d try staying again if I’m back in the area, hoping for a better visit. I paid more than $1,900 for three rooms, checking in Thursday the 26th and checking out Sunday the 28th. Around 9 pm Thursday, the hotel was practically empty, but our rooms were scattered and we were given Room 172, a full-price room facing another room instead of the pool. When I asked about it, I was told they were holding those rooms for guests arriving on the 27th. I was already there and paid in full, yet they knowingly gave us worse rooms to save better ones for people who had not checked in. I felt like I mattered less than guests who were not even on site. For $1,900+, I expected better than being downgraded in an empty hotel so management could save rooms for someone else. Totally unacceptable.
