The main problem was reaching anyone when we needed help. We were locked out during checkout, which was our own mistake, but getting back in took four hours, several calls, and emails with unclear, slow replies. My partner had to move his bus trip to a much later departure, which cost a lot more. Once we did reach staff, they were helpful, but that wait was unacceptable. The rental office is closed on weekends and after 6 PM on weekdays, so you can't reach them by phone then. A more serious situation, like someone locked out late at night in this busy part of town, could be much worse. This is generally a self-service hotel, but I expected at least one person to be reachable. The room itself was pretty great, check-in went smoothly, and the location was superb. I think other hotels nearby could offer those things and more for $30 extra a night. One small thing: toiletries weren't replaced, so we didn't get fresh towels during our two-night stay. That was okay for us, but worth mentioning.

Getting laundry done here didn't seem worthwhile for a short stay. A reloadable card costs $5, and using the washer and dryer is another $5.50. If you need to wash clothes, see if someone has left a card behind before buying one. The location was decent, near key subway lines, but the rooms were minimal. Toiletries were sparse and low quality: the bar soap arrived broken, and there was no body wash. It's self-service, with no housekeeping. Soundproofing was basically nonexistent, and I was woken several times by other residents and morning construction.

The bed was really comfortable, and the TV having Amazon Prime was a nice touch. I'd only ask for better window curtains. It's a fresh, independent-feeling new hotel in a great spot for Little Italy, with loads of bars and restaurants in walking distance.

The room was nicely done, and we could get anywhere we needed to go in under 20 minutes by subway or bus. The hotel is close to everything. Still, it was very expensive, especially after they told us on arrival there'd be an extra daily cleaning fee of just over $20. They made the bed each of our four days, but never changed the towels, so it felt like a rip-off. The mini "kitchen" could use a few more basics, like bowls, cutlery, a kettle, or a toaster.

We booked months ahead, but they cancelled on the day we arrived in New York, after check-in had already started. Before that, they hadn't answered any of our messages.
