AKA Times Square

We could watch Macy's Parade from our room during our Thanksgiving stay, and the location was super convenient. We spent seven days at AKA Times Square, where the staff were great, especially "Kevin" and Cesar. The cleaning service was excellent too. I'd definitely stay there again when I visit NYC.

We've stayed here three times this year, for both short visits and longer stays, and will probably keep choosing it when we come to NYC. It's very clean, the staff are nice and helpful, and the gym is a plus. We got a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and washer/dryer for just a little more than a regular hotel room, instead of being in a 175 sq ft shoebox. Great hotel, and I really love it.

For tourists, the location is pretty perfect. AKA is between two successful theaters, next door to Cafe Un Deux Trois, and steps from Times Square. There's a nice bar across the street, Fifth Avenue and MOMA are a short walk away, and you can Uber to other places. We stayed the last week of November, right before Thanksgiving, and the two-bedroom apartment saved us about half what two rooms at essentially any other Manhattan hotel would have cost. It's a particularly good option if you need more than one bedroom or are staying awhile. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable, well lit, and well maintained, with working heat and air conditioning. The bathroom was small, but that wasn't a problem for our family. There's a full kitchen and a refrigerator for leftovers. The lobby is small, which is typical for a street-front New York hotel, and the desk staff were exceedingly friendly and interested in what we were up to each day. Upstairs there's an adequate gym, plus coffee, tea, pastries, and fruit on the top floor, a lovely spot to sit with the paper or your phone. We'll go back.

Kevin at the front desk was the highlight of our trip, greeting everyone every day and being an absolute legend. We loved our week at AKA Times Square for the NYE celebration. The rooms were immaculate, and restaurants, shopping, pubs, the subway, and Times Square itself were all conveniently close.
