Best Western Plus Brooklyn Prospect Park

I’ve stayed about five times and haven’t had a single complaint. The place is quiet and peaceful, and the breakfast staff are excellent. Front desk staff give five-star service and were understanding when I had trouble with my card. I’m not sure why the ratings are low. About the pillows people mention, they’re folded up as decoration, but unfold into regular sleeping pillows. Kudos to the team, keep up the great work.

The thin walls were the main drawback for me. I could often hear people in the neighboring rooms, which could bother light sleepers. The free Wi-Fi was spotty and unsecured, which may concern some guests. The pillows were regular pillows, but came packaged on the bed and had to be unpacked, a small nuisance. On the plus side, my room was clean and well maintained. I spent three days at the Best Western Plus in Brooklyn and found it reasonably priced, with a convenient location for a quick tour and local street parking nearby if you look around. Overall, decent value for a clean stay.

The staff were genuinely nice and tried to help, but that was the one bright spot. The room description promised a queen suite with a pullout sofa bed. Instead, the room barely fit a queen bed and a sofa chair, which opened into something about half the size of a twin. The only pillows in the hotel were decorative ones meant to be removed. The bathroom was tiny, had only one of its two shower doors, and water went everywhere. The shower floor was very slippery too. The TV was large, but the video feed was terrible, like watching a stream from some illegal site in Russia.

The front desk staff were really friendly and did their best to make me comfortable, and I slept well on the good mattress and pillows despite the thin walls. The room itself was very small. I could barely find space for an open suitcase, and there was hardly room to sit between the oversized bed and table. The large TV had very poor picture quality. At first glance the room seemed clean, but closer inspection in the bathroom turned up hair and dust. The bed was clean, though housekeeping also forgot to make up the room after I put out the sign early that morning. There were some worn spots, but only minor ones, and the room didn’t look especially old. There’s no hotel parking, so you have to find a spot nearby. Adding up my scores across seven categories, I got 21 stars, or three stars overall. I can recommend it for a short stay of 1-3 days.
