Capital Hotel

Service was the strongest part of my stay: attentive and helpful, and worth a solid four stars. The room was standard and met my expectations for a comfortable visit. The location wasn't as central as I'd hoped, but the good service made the trip worthwhile.

The bed was surprisingly good, very firm and comfortable. That's about the only positive I can think of. The room was filthy: gum pressed onto the floor, long black wig hairs in the sink, and caked feces on the toilet bowl, which made it seem like nobody had cleaned it in a long time. Even the toilet paper was installed backwards, a small detail that still says a lot about housekeeping. The room was far smaller than the photos suggested, while the bathroom was unnecessarily large. Better use of the space could have cut the bathroom size in half and given more room to the sleeping area. The pillows and blanket were cheap synthetic material, and the walls were so thin I could hear everything in neighboring rooms. They charged $50 for early check-in without telling me beforehand. People loitering nearby seemed dodgy, and I didn't feel safe walking around in the evening, so I relied on Uber to avoid possible danger. I'd spend a bit more for another hotel.

The room was in poor condition, and I saw bugs, which was disappointing and unacceptable in a hotel. I paid a lot, but the stay wasn't worth the money. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, and I wish I hadn't stayed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place.

The renovation still wasn't finished, and the services hadn't all started, so I wouldn't recommend staying until that work is complete. There's a coffee machine, but no drinking water fountain. We asked for twin beds and weren't given them, with a very funny explanation. One staff member was very arrogant when we checked in on 12th May 2026, though the others were good.
