Chelsea Savoy Hotel

When our flight was cancelled, staying an extra night was no problem. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the rooms were spacious and nice. Breakfast runs from 8-10am. There wasn't much choice, but what they had was good enough. The location worked well too, with subway stations nearby for getting downtown or uptown.

It was easy to explore the city from here, with sights, attractions, and subway stops close by. The rooms were spotless and much more spacious than I expected for an affordable New York City hotel. The cleaning staff stayed on top of everything 24/7, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Great place run by great people. I'd happily stay again.

The Chelsea location is the big draw, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious and well maintained for this area. Service was decent, though it didn't stand out the way the accommodations and neighborhood did. A reliable room in a great part of town, and a strong four-star choice.

The place is affordable and the location is good, but I regretted booking it and wouldn't come back. My room had an old, musty smell as soon as I walked in. The shower drain was so slow that I ended up standing in the day's grime, and I couldn't get the extraction fan to turn on, though maybe it was broken. The AC and fridge were loud, and I could hear a lot of traffic all night. Being near the elevators also made the room feel less private. The curtains wouldn't close all the way, so morning light came in. In the lobby, someone was ranting at the front desk staff, who seemed to know her. It made things awkward for the guests there. The ambience just wasn't there. If you can afford somewhere else, I wouldn't recommend this place.
