Citadines Connect Fifth Avenue New York

The staff were warm, informative, and accommodating, and the heat in our clean room worked really well. Rooms are small and storage is limited, but the location is excellent for a fair price. If we come back to Midtown, we'd consider staying here again.

The rooms were quiet and cozy, a nice place to unwind after a full day out. The hotel itself felt clean, modern, and well cared for, and the staff were professional, friendly, and ready to help. Best of all, it's right in the heart of the city, just steps from Fifth Avenue, shops, restaurants, and major sights. Citadines Connect Fifth Avenue New York made exploring New York easy, with a good mix of comfort, convenience, and value. I'd happily come back.

The one thing I liked was the location. The rest of the stay left me very disappointed, and I expected much more from Citadine. We had checked in online ahead of time as the emails suggested, but arrival check-in still took 20 minutes, and I had to show both my ID and credit card. Once in the room, we found the heat wasn't working. It was 68 degrees in December in New York. There was barely any room for our clothes either: only four hangers for three adults, and no drawers, so we lived out of our suitcases for all five days. The room was so cramped there was just one tiny nightstand between the two beds. The people sleeping on the other side had nowhere to put their things. The morning after we arrived, the cleaning crew woke us by trying to enter while we were asleep, even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. They thought we were meant to check out. At the front desk, they ran out of green tea and didn't seem to care or offer to replace it. For water, our choices were tap water or very small $4 bottles.

The hotel showed no empathy or customer care when our plans fell apart. A major snowstorm cancelled our flight, so we couldn't travel for reasons completely beyond our control. Even after I explained what happened and provided the context, they refused a refund, credit, or any flexibility, relying strictly on the cancellation policy. I know policies are there for a reason, but good hospitality also means using reasonable discretion when weather disrupts air travel. Many hotels do show flexibility in those circumstances. This one didn't, and it left a very poor impression. I'd caution future travelers that if weather or flight problems change your plans, you shouldn't expect understanding or accommodation here.
