The RAs made the halls fun with decorations, helped answer questions, and organized monthly activities. Slime was my favorite. The study rooms, TV rooms, and kitchen are all nice, and the view of the Empire State Building is great. I spent plenty of nights getting better at 8 ball, and I lucked out with room 1739. EHS is in a great part of the city, with good amenities and cool people. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re okay with a smaller space.

I had a wonderful year and a half living at EHS New Yorker. The lobby felt welcoming, and security was great. The rooms were nice, and whenever something went wrong, EHS fixed it quickly. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a dorm style experience in the city.

I felt safe here, made friends, and always had activities in the apartment to join. The accommodations were wonderful, the staff were great, and the location was so convenient for my summer internship. Such a great place to live. I’d recommend it to anyone interning or staying short term in NYC.

I always felt safe here, and the staff were amazing. The location is convenient, and having laundry in the building was a big plus. The rooms feel a bit dated, and I was disappointed when cable became optional during my stay. Still, I have no major complaints.

The staff were kind, but there wasn’t much they could do. When I raised the issues I’d experienced, they acknowledged them, but nothing was ever fixed. The building’s poor condition really hurt my stay. There are cockroaches in many rooms, the natural light is low, and the building is very old. Sometimes rusty brown water comes through the pipes. There are no window screens, so if you crack a window, bugs will eat you alive. I’d post photos, but frankly it’s gross. These problems aren’t isolated. Many residents I know have had them too, and some of the photos belong to them. The central location is busy, loud, dirty, and feels sketchy. You hear street noise at all hours, and the Penn Station area just isn’t comfortable to live in. Ask any local. If your company offers corporate housing here, take the stipend and add some of your own money for somewhere else. Speaking from experience, living with all this isn’t worth it.
