Club Wyndham Midtown 45

The 33rd-floor outdoor lounge has lovely views, and the heated tables are a clever touch. The coffee there was just so-so. We also liked being near Grand Central Station and enjoyed eating at the perfect pint right outside the hotel. The staff were great. Tracy, in particular, was lovely to talk with and shared ideas for things to do nearby. After I mentioned that my wife and I had sore feet from all the walking the day before, she kindly brought us little bottles of bath salts to soak them. The gym was a letdown, though: it’s cramped with very little equipment, and using the pull-up bar would mean hitting your head on the ceiling. We visited in late April and enjoyed our stay.

The views from the rooms were impressive, especially up on the higher floors, and the amenities were great. The rooms themselves were modern and cozy, but some details were a nuisance: a broken curtain rod, a shower door that wouldn’t close, and a toilet flush button that leaked. Nothing major, but they’ve apparently renovated already, so there’s still work to do. The only other issue was people bothering us to buy a timeshare. Without that, this would have been a great place.

This was my second visit, and the clean, spacious, quiet rooms are fantastic. The rooftop lounge was a welcome break after busy days in the city, with something happening there every day. Service is excellent, everyone’s courteous and helpful. It’s right in midtown Manhattan, within walking distance of Grand Central Station. The one bad part was the saleswoman pushing a presentation. She wouldn’t accept no and literally followed us out onto the sidewalk. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend it.

The rooms are lovely and the location is great, but the timeshare reps made the stay miserable. I was seven months pregnant, and they wouldn’t let my husband and me check in until we agreed to attend a presentation. It took up four hours. I was hungry and very uncomfortable, and when we tried to leave, the Wyndham timeshare manager was called to stop us. Their aggressive response showed no consideration for my condition, and I left frustrated and in tears. Customer service when we raised concerns was poor too. I wish I could rate it higher, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
