Courtyard Long Island City/New York Manhattan View

The water station on the gym level was a small perk that ended up being the MVP of the stay. Housekeeping skipped our room one day, then only showed up at 5pm to ask if we wanted it made up. Amenities in the room were extremely sparse, so keep expectations low and bring your own umbrella. It rained during our stay, and by 8am the front desk had already run out of umbrellas. We ended up buying one in the rain, which felt more like a side quest than hospitality. The room at Courtyard by Marriott Long Island was clean and well kept, with a decent amount of space and a comfortable bed. There was enough room to open a suitcase and walk around without gymnastics. A solid room, but the stay had a few plot twists.

My sisters and I came from Dallas Tx for a week of model projects in NYC, and we had a blast here. We could walk to everything we needed, and the subway was close too. The hotel was beautiful and comfortable, but the customer service was the best part. Ms Pinki took such good care of us that we gave her a rose before we went back to Texas. We love and miss you, Pinki! As long as she works there, we’ll always want to stay here when we visit. Best customer service award goes to her. Hope to see you soon!

The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. I’d booked the wrong location, and they offered to help. They had complimentary snacks and drinks, and the place smelled great when I walked in. Parking wasn’t the best, but that’s NYC, and the rooms weren’t as big as I’d like, but that’s NYC too. It’s right next to a Hudson grocery that serves food, and there’s a restaurant and lobby on the first floor. I’d stay again.

The front desk agent was courteous and professional, and staff responded when I raised the issue. Someone brought fresh sheets for me to put on, but they didn’t offer to move me to another room. I found what looked like a blood stain on the sheet after arriving in a room that had seemed fine. That’s concerning, since it would be hard to miss on white bedding. The hotel’s location is great, but cleanliness and the state of the room and amenities brought my rating down to two stars. I also smelled smoke in my room from time to time and noticed someone might have been smoking on my floor. I know it may be hard to control, but I hope the hotel holds people accountable if they are smoking. The staff were polite and professional, so please thank them for me.
