Days Inn by Wyndham Brooklyn Crown Heights

We had to come back home to NYC for a funeral and stayed a week. With a major family loss already weighing on us, seeing the room felt like a blow to the chest. It was basically a closet with a TV and bed, and all four of us were cramped. Half the counter was missing, the curtains weren't ironed, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed properly, and there were small stains on the pillowcases. We spent most of our time out, so it was good enough if you just need a place to rest your head. The staff were pleasant and generally left you alone, breakfast was great, and checkout went smoothly. I hope the area around the hotel improves in the coming years.

Room service did improve, with fresh towels and clean bathrooms, but the overall stay still kind of sucked. There were only four parking spots in the garage and they were all taken when I arrived. I chose the hotel because it said parking was available, but the woman at the desk answered with an attitude that it was first come, first served. Then our bathroom was falling apart, with a big hole in the shower and water dripping from it. I called to ask if anyone had checked the room before we arrived. The woman apologized and moved us to another room. The next morning I expected a delicious breakfast, but all they had was toast.

The beds were comfortable, and staff were good and quick when I asked to have the room cleaned. Parking is very limited and the rooms are small, so it's mostly a place to stop and rest. The bathroom was really nice. Downstairs, the main cafeteria serves breakfast from 7-11 a.m.; that's also where you'll find the ice, vending, and water machines, plus coffee, orange juice, and apple juice. The front desk service was great.

The room was clean, though small, and housekeeping came every day. It’s close to the train station, with a few delis nearby for snacks or a light meal. Check-in was quick, but there’s no help with bags or bell service, and the TV wasn’t very good. The price suits the accommodation, and I’d stay again since I don’t need anything fancy.
