On Rivington Hotel

The view from our balcony was beautiful, and the room itself was acceptable, though dated and clearly showing its age. Staff made an effort, and many were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, with especially kind and attentive breakfast staff. Still, we didn’t feel recognized for our status at check-in or treated as we would expect for this brand, even though the front desk remained polite. The location wasn’t ideal: major attractions are far away, and outside the hotel the area didn’t feel very safe or comfortable. At checkout at 7:00 AM, staff yawned repeatedly while helping us, which made them seem overworked and exhausted. We also couldn’t add a company address to the invoice, despite that information already being known, which felt inconvenient and unprofessional. If the view and balcony matter most, this could suit you. We were disappointed in the service and quality we associate with the chain.

Dery at the concierge desk was so welcoming and helpful, and made our visit feel ten times better. The room was spacious, clean, beautiful, and had an amazing city view. The whole hotel smelled wonderful and felt super clean, and service was quick and efficient. I’ve been to NYC about seven times, but this was easily my best trip because of how amazing the hotel was. If I return to New York, I doubt I’d stay anywhere else. Highly recommend.

After long workdays for NYBFW, having walkable restaurants that were delicious made a difference. The views were fantastic, the free wine hour was a treat, and the bar kept serving food and drinks well past normal dinner hours. I booked because of the soaking tub, and it lived up to the reason I chose the hotel. The staff were kind, helpful, and efficient, especially Dery. They’d call a cab right to the front when needed and suggest favorite places to eat and visit. Someone always greeted me and checked how the stay was going. Dery even remembered it was my first time booking there, though he hadn’t checked me in. That kind of hospitality is rare and appreciated. Thanks for making a work trip comfortable. Staff like Dery will bring me back to Hotel on Rivington.

The view from our room was incredible, and we slept so well in the comfy beds. The room had thoughtful touches, from chocolate and luxe bath products to a huge closet and plenty of storage. We loved the neighborhood too, with brunch at Good Thanks Cafe around the corner and Economy Candy across the street. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and they gave us an early check-in and texted when the room was ready so we didn’t have to wait around. Loved staying at Hotel on Rivington, and I’d absolutely come back.
