Hotel Stanford

A comfortable, well-rounded stay, with good rooms and service, both 4/5. The location gets 5/5 from me, it's hard to beat and puts you right where you need to be. A great pick for convenience and quality.

Though it's so conveniently placed, the hotel was quiet. The front desk staff and doorman were friendly, too. Breakfast was simple but hearty. The room had plenty of space to move around, a closet, and a decent toilet area. It also came with an iron, TV, bathtub, and hot water. There's a dining room where you can heat up takeaways in a microwave. The room decor is dated, and mine had no street view. The in-room fridge made noise now and then, and the toilet area was cold, as if there were no heat in there.

My ninth-floor room at the Standord Hotel was huge, almost like a studio, with two queen beds, a big sofa, and a spacious bathroom. The location is excellent, two minutes from the subway and next to the Empire State Building. Breakfast was included, though it was very basic. I was there during a snowstorm, when they were short-staffed. After my flight was cancelled, I asked about staying longer, but there was confusion over the price and the rate they quoted was higher than the online one. I chose another hotel. I still had a great stay and would gladly have extended it with a better offer.

The staff made our trip feel special, especially Akash, Steven, Jarif, Abraham, and Charles. They helped make it the best place on earth for us, and the reason we'll return. Much love to you all, from Serena and Rustin. My son and I stayed in room 811 to celebrate his 16th birthday. It was a quaint, small room, but comfortable and just right for us. Breakfast every morning was amazing, with salad, eggs, cereal, toast, and fruit. I was surprised by how few New York places offer a spa or pool, but the location here was divine and close to everything.
