The subway connections and nearby food options are great, and the staff were welcoming throughout. They quickly fixed a TV issue I had on arrival. The room was amazing, with a stunning view of the Empire State Building (3503). I came for a birthday weekend break and got such a warm welcome from the Hyatt team at check-in. My schedule was busy, so I only tried breakfast once, but the food was amazing, fresh, and hot. Brilliant service all round. I’ll be back.

Breakfast was better than I expected. It was well organized, not overcrowded, with good food and variety. Staff handled the tables and guests well, even as things changed. If you get a high-floor room, the city view can be exceptional, which is a great asset. The hotel is clean and in a safe, well-connected area near major train and subway intersections, so getting around is easy. The rooms were okay, but small, with little room to move once a suitcase was on the floor. Storage is almost nonexistent, just one shelf and a small hanger, and there was no proper desk, so I used my laptop on the bed or sofa. I also expected a bit more from a Hyatt, since the shampoo bottles were empty on the first day. The elevators fill up quickly and can mean a long wait, especially going down from the lower floors. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a good breakfast, but the rooms are small.

We had to stay two extra nights because of a snowstorm, and the front desk staff helped us through it. They kept us in the same room so we didn’t have to move all our things, which was really helpful. The place was very clean, from the lobby and elevators to the eating areas and our room. Breakfast was good and varied, and the employees were friendly and answered all my questions without making me feel like a bother. A good place to stay in New York.

My 17th-floor room was spacious, spotless, and a lovely place to unwind for the night. The bathroom was especially clean and modern, and the panoramic city view made the stay memorable. Complimentary breakfast had plenty of variety and was a great way to start the day. The service was outstanding from the moment I arrived. Staff were attentive and friendly, and made me feel genuinely welcome. For the price, I felt the hotel offered excellent value. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting New York and will stay again on my next trip.

The long wait for elevators was the biggest headache. It could take more than 10 minutes to get one going down, and without luggage I found it faster to walk down 20 floors. After breakfast, people were crowded together trying to get back up. Avoiding the busiest times seemed like the only answer. The shower also made odd groaning sounds now and then. We booked the Hyatt Place Chelsea for a long weekend after visiting family on Long Island. It was our first proper time in NYC, beyond a quick layover, so I wanted somewhere central. The 20th-floor view didn’t disappoint: seeing the Empire State Building from bed was very cool. The room was clean, modern-looking, and had a comfortable bed, but it was very small. The website photos felt misleading, taken from an angle that hid how narrow it was. For what we paid, I was a little disappointed by the size, though the stay was still worth it. We barely interacted with staff, but they were friendly and helpful. The front desk sent up lotion for me, though I don’t know how long it took since I was out. Bell staff held our luggage on checkout day, and we had no noise issues. Breakfast was mediocre, but about what I’d expect from a free buffet. The room coffee was terrible, though the buffet coffee was okay.
