LIC Hotel

LIC Hotel made getting around easy. It's close to the subway and just a few stops from Manhattan. For LaGuardia, taking the subway or getting an Uber or Lyft felt convenient and stress-free. There are plenty of food options and restaurants nearby, and enough to do in the area to keep it from feeling overwhelming. Walking around at night felt safe, which made the trip more comfortable. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had what we needed. Breakfast was a nice extra, and the coffee hit the spot in the morning. A solid choice if you want easy transit, nearby food, and quick access to Manhattan.

The rooftop has a great skyline view, and it's a quick walk to Court Square station, with trains to basically everywhere. There's a convenient Target between the station and hotel if you need anything. Rooms were very clean, if a bit small, and the staff were professional and accommodating. As tourists, this worked perfectly for us. The neighborhood seemed a little sterile and industrial at first, but after a couple days visiting Manhattan I appreciated how quiet and calm it was. It's much cheaper than a Manhattan hotel. I'd stay again. A small sundries market in the lobby could be a nice addition.

For a similar price, and sometimes even less, you can book much newer and nicer hotels in the same area. Given that, I wouldn't recommend LIC Hotel. It's a very basic 2 star place, with dated facilities and poor-quality, well-used furniture. The bathrooms are extremely small. Rooms and facilities were clean, though, and the location felt safe and was close to subway stops.

A short walk gets you to several subway lines into Manhattan, and the area feels quieter than the city center. The staff were friendly and generally helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with the basics, though they were on the small side and pretty simple. Don't expect luxury touches. Breakfast was included, which was nice, but could get repetitive.
