The room was adorable, with lots of fun decor, though a bit small. We booked at the last minute and didn’t have many choices, so this place is popular and worth booking ahead. It’s also chic and in a great location. And Sam deserves a huge thank you. Amelia especially, and all of us, loved him. His amazing hospitality and customer service were one reason we booked, and we’re so glad we did.

The staff are wonderful, warm, attentive, and awesome all around. If you’re traveling alone or as a couple, do stay here. The view from The Hilight Room is unbelievable! But if you’re here for business, sharing a room, or elderly, I’d choose somewhere else. There’s no desk, closet, dresser, mini fridge, or microwave, and the design feels inconsiderate. It seems built around the multiple dance clubs, with sparse amenities. Food at the hotel is limited, though the neighborhood has lots of variety, including Delancey and Broome Street, plus Little Italy and China Town a short walk away. A tip: Nolita Luxe Deli is a short walk and has affordable water, all-day breakfast, and grilled things like chopped cheese. Russ and Daughters cafe on Delancey Street is a well-rated Jewish style bagel cafe. Have a great stay!

The cafe downstairs has GREAT coffee, which matters to me coming from Melbourne Australia. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms gorgeous, and every part of the hotel felt artistic, colourful, welcoming, and cozy. Moxy was a highlight of my NYC trip, and I can’t wait to come back. Sam and Joanna were incredible. They went out of their way to get us checked in early so we could change out of our wet clothes.

The hotel looks great, with a trendy bar and lobby where we saw several people doing photoshoots. But the first floor has a strong perfume smell, which I initially thought came from other guests. It’s actually the hotel itself. Those downstairs areas can get crowded, though that may just be part of New York. The mood skews young and party-focused, with suggestive artwork and a club right by the entrance, so it didn’t feel very family-friendly. The elevator requires you to tap and choose your floor before getting in. It works once you learn it, but isn’t intuitive, and I saw several guests struggle. Our room was nice, but not what we booked: we paid for a king with a city view and got a queen with a partial view mostly overlooking a daycare. When we asked, we were told some rooms don’t actually have a full view, so keep that in mind. We also found a dried contact lens on the floor, which was concerning since neither of us wears contacts. Great aesthetic, but it seems better suited to younger people looking for nightlife than to families or quieter travelers.

The staff were the best part of my stay. Jeremy and Bernie were consistently helpful, and customer service was exceptional throughout. The room was clean and about the size you’d expect in NYC, tight but with most of what you need. I do wish there were a kettle for tea or coffee. The thermostat worked well in winter, the elevators were fast enough, and scheduled water maintenance one day didn’t end up affecting me. The hotel itself was quiet and I didn’t hear neighbors, though I could hear people in the hallway because I was near the elevators. That wasn’t really an issue for me. There’s a $20 credit for the bar or cafe. Cafe and bar staff should tell guests that a tip is added automatically and say what percentage it is. At the cafe, I was surprised by a few extra dollars each time on my final invoice, even though the computer showed a total including tax and fees. Overall, my first stay at the Moxy LES was great.
