Northern Lights Mansion

We had a really enjoyable weekend here. The room was clean and lovely, and the kitchen was great, just right for what we needed. Staff were extremely nice and always ready to help, and the subway stations were nearby. I’d definitely book again. Thank you :)

We came to see NYC at Christmas and this was an excellent base. It was nice to be away from downtown’s rush, with a nearby subway when we wanted to head there. Ron kindly met us early, and we could leave our luggage before the official check-in, which was great. There’s a cozy shared sitting area and a lovely kitchen with coffee, tea, toast, and cereal. Our room was cute, with a beautiful corner window overlooking the street, and the shower and bathroom had everything we needed. One single bed had a permanent dip in the middle, and the pull-out third bed was rock hard, so a new mattress might be due. I mention it as feedback, not to knock the stay. The owner and Ron were welcoming from the time I booked, and I’d stay again. If you want a refuge after busy days around the city, this would be a lovely option.

I haven’t stayed here myself, so I can’t comment on the rooms or the location. But Shakir Philippe provided excellent service. A loved one was staying at the hotel and had an important meeting to present at. After a day of travel and with jet lag, I worried they might miss it. Their phone was off, so I called the property manager, Shakir, who went out of his way to make sure they were awake and ready. I’m very grateful.

Shakir Philippe treated us like family, and the whole stay felt unique. He was like that cool best friend who knows everything and is always a phone call away. The care and genuine concern I received went beyond what I expected. It felt like an experience, not just a stay. I was surrounded by all kinds of food and culture, and it was beautiful.
