Pod 39

Grand Central is so close, and we'd definitely book here again. My adult daughter and I had a bunk room that worked perfectly for us. It's small, much like a cruise ship cabin if you know those, but has what you need without a huge price. The shower is compact but does the job, and you may want to turn it off while soaping up. The bathroom's frosted glass gives some visual privacy at the bottom, but sound carries into the room. Still, it was completely adequate.

The bed was really comfortable, and the room was a cozy place to come back to after exploring. I wouldn't spend all day in it, but it worked well for winding down. The property was clean, and they tidied the room daily, which surprised me since that seems less common now. I'd usually pick a bare-bones hostel, but the price for pod 39 wasn't much higher on my dates, so treating myself turned out to be a great call. Everyone I spoke to on staff was helpful and friendly. I'd recommend it to solo travelers, and thanks to the staff for a great stay.

The location made our Christmas visit especially enjoyable. We could walk to Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park’s Christmas market, and lots of restaurants and cafés from this spot in Manhattan. The rooms are compact, as you'd expect in New York City, but thoughtfully laid out and well cared for. We had enough storage, clean linens, and the amenities we needed. Housekeeping kept everything fresh and organized. After long winter days walking around, we were glad the bed was so comfortable, and we slept well. The bathroom was clean too, with reliable hot water. The hotel felt welcoming, safe, and well managed even during the busy holiday period. For a clean, affordable, central stay without extra luxury, Pod 39 worked very well. I'd consider coming back to New York and staying here again.

I was surprised by how quiet the room was in the middle of town, and the bed was really comfortable. The staff welcomed me warmly, and everything was absolutely pristine clean. Since I'm hardly in the room anyway, this is a great way to save money for food and excursions. The location is amazing, you can walk to everything. This is going to be my go-to when I visit the city.
