Sanctuary Hotel New York

I booked on short notice and barely researched it, but the hotel ended up being a possible favorite in the theater district. We had a spacious, comfortable deluxe room. Being on a side street kept things quieter than the usual NYC hotel, and you really can't beat the walkability. The staff were helpful and friendly. We'll be back.

The snow blizzards cut our vacation short, but we loved the hotel's location and plan to return. My wife and I had a wonderful time there for my birthday. Jimmy, the hotel director, thank you for all your support and hospitality. You promised we'd have a wonderful stay, and we did. The hotel is beautiful, everyone was so nice and friendly, and we also got to meet Leni, the hotel manager, another great professional. Best, Van and Daiana

Getting around was easy thanks to the hotel's very central spot. The staff were reliably kind and helpful, and it was nice having good sushi options on site. The design is a little different, but not bad, and gives the place some character. My room was okay, though small, and the carpet had an old smell I didn't love. A solid choice if convenience, helpful people, and sushi matter to you.

The location worked well for the tourist sights, with a subway station at the end of the street. Even though it was right by Times Square, it wasn't noisy. We got a warm welcome, and the staff were always ready to help. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day, and the continental breakfast on the top floor was good. The rooms themselves were very small, with a brick wall as the only window view. There was a well-stocked minibar and snack tray, but everything was expensive; room service was also available. The first-floor bar felt empty and was rarely staffed, though plenty of other bars were just steps away. The fire exit was blocked by chairs.
