We liked having our own private apartment and the host arrived right on time with everything we needed for the week. The place was clean and in good shape, though it's an older building. There were AC units in both bedrooms, but we didn't need them in October. It's a basic setup with two bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a bathroom, suitable for up to four people. The 6 line is just steps away, with convenience stores and a good coffee shop nearby. You should be comfortable with city sounds and radiator noise. There's no concierge or daily towel service, so it won't suit anyone after a fussy hotel stay. The two flights of narrow stairs are worth keeping in mind too. If you like living more like a local, with a private room, a Roku TV, and a kitchen for drinks, snacks, and quick meals, it works well.

I was shocked they wouldn't refund the $1500. I booked this small hotel for my parents, and when they realized how far it was from Central Park, I tried to cancel. The reservation had been in place for ten minutes or probably less. I begged for even a partial refund, but they wouldn't budge. I could understand if hours had passed and they'd potentially lost another guest, but this was just gross. What a shameful example of opportunists.
During the hottest days of the year, my apartment had ants and flies everywhere. I contacted the hotel and was ignored, then told not to contact them again. It might look nice, but they treated me like trash. If I could give it no stars, I would. Don't spend your money here.
Everything I needed was there, and the apartment hotel was very nice. I've just booked another trip and will be staying again in a couple of months.
The bakery downstairs was lovely in the mornings, and I kept coming back to sit on the window ledge at night. My friend and I wanted to feel like New Yorkers in the neighborhood rather than tourists, and this place made the whole week feel like home. The apartment was in good condition, with transit only steps away and a great deli across the street on the diagonal. We were in Harlem, which gave us the chance to explore the area, and it was close to the top of Central Park. Getting to other spots was quick on the subway, with exits just three blocks from the park along its length. There are restaurants, shops, and everyday city life nearby that we wouldn't have found by staying around tourist hotels. It's between Lexington and Park, which felt iconic to me. I stayed in April 2024, and though I've seen some pretty negative comments since, I can only speak to my own stay. I'd absolutely come back.
