The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel, by Hyatt

We stayed at the Beekman Hotel for our city hall wedding, and my wife and I had a wonderful time. The rooms were spotless, and daily cleaning made them feel freshly arrived at each day. Staff were courteous, always ready to help or make suggestions, and did everything they could to keep us comfortable. The vibrant atmosphere and high standard of service carried through the stay, and the hotel administration and staff were very helpful with planning our wedding photoshoot. I’d give the Beekman Hotel a perfect 5 out of 5. We’ll definitely return.

The bar at the Beekman Thompson in New York City made for a relaxed evening. It had warm lighting, beautiful architecture, and a comfortable feel, with that classic, upscale New York charm. The space was stylish but never felt overcrowded or chaotic, and it was easy to settle in and talk. Service was smooth and attentive without anyone hovering. Our drinks were balanced and beautifully made, and they arrived quickly. We also tried the profiterole. The pastry was light and tasty, though it came without chocolate sauce, which was a small disappointment. Still, the quality, presentation, and atmosphere made up for that little hiccup. It’s a great spot for a classy night out, with solid drinks, thoughtful service, and a setting that makes the evening feel special.

The Bar Room restaurant was excellent, and the staff were amazing. I’ve finally found a hotel I can confidently recommend. It’s far better than other Fine Hotel Collection properties in the same price range.

Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My partner had forgotten his toothbrush and razor, so they quickly brought up a dental kit and shaving kit. Free turndown service was a nice touch too. After our first night out, room service tidied up and left fresh water bottles. They also stored our bags easily after checkout so we could take our evening train home. The hotel is beautiful and conveniently close to the subway and MTA buses. Our fifth floor room was tidy and comfortable for the two nights. I enjoyed the stay and would definitely return. A few details could’ve been better. There are three elevators, but one has an indicator light that doesn’t work and makes no sound, so we nearly missed it a few times. An event one night sent noise up to our room until after midnight. And although we’re perfectly capable of opening doors ourselves, there were several times that the doormen watched us struggle with the heavy door or reached for it late. Maybe it’s because we don’t look like what they expect a Beekman guest to look like, but I would’ve appreciated five star service at an establishment like this.
