Harlem YMCA Hostel

The people at this establishment were extremely disrespectful and unprofessional, and seemed unqualified for their jobs. Kathren, the membership advisor, was especially disrespectful and secretive. She rolled her eyes while talking to a parent and lied about the kids. I think she should lose her membership advisor title. One woman at the desk was on her phone while a man tried to ask her something, then asked if she was listening. Everyone needs better communication and people skills.

I've belonged to this gym for a while, paying $80 a month, and it has always looked like this inside. I've visited several other Y's in the city, and this one is by far the worst. I know the building is historic, but that doesn't excuse its poor interior upkeep. It's really sad, and these are only a few of the many problems that go unaddressed.

Our child has been taking swimming lessons here for three years and has gone from being scared to swimming independently. The instructors keep the kids moving through all the skills and are efficient, patient, and kind. We also have fun at the Open Houses, and all the staff are wonderful. We really love this Y.
