The Hotel @ Fifth Avenue

We booked The Hotel at Fifth Avenue at the last minute when a blizzard had cancelled every mode of transportation in NYC. It made a stressful night much easier. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location puts you right in the middle of everything. The staff were friendly and efficient, which we especially appreciated amid all the city chaos. For an unexpected one-night stay, it worked out very well.

The Hotel at Fifth Avenue has a great Midtown location, close to the Empire State Building, Flatiron District shopping, Madison Square Park, and subway access. It’s a nice value for the quality and has a more individual feel than a chain. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, with plush beds and impressive city views. Service was warm, attentive, and proactive. A luxurious stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

We had a quick, easy early check-in, and the hotel was quiet and clean, just what we expect. The rooms are very small, but that was fine for us since we only needed somewhere to sleep. It’s a great spot for getting to lots of attractions. The price is a bit steep, but you’re paying for convenience. I’d stay again.

I checked in around 7:30 pm and left by 9 that same night. As a woman traveling alone, I felt unsafe with the loud neighboring rooms, doors slamming, and what sounded like someone fiddling with my door. My room was in the hallway between two noisy rooms, much smaller than I expected, and the bed was right in front of the door, unlike what the pictures suggested. I also saw what looked like mold behind the bed, which worried me because I have severe asthma. I usually check the bed and floor, and what I found was concerning. I’d prepaid for the whole week, so a lot of money was wasted.
