The Surrey A Corinthia Hotel

The Surrey was especially convenient as a base for a visit centered on the upper east side. Staff were so helpful and accommodating, and graciously rescued me from a few mistakes I’d made myself. I had a great stay and look forward to returning when I’m in the city.

The shower was impeccable, which helped make up for the noisy decor. Bar service was confusing and chaotic, though not bad. The restaurant was lovely for a relaxed morning of work, with clientele who were always interesting and sometimes amusing. Friendly doormen, desk staff, room service people, and drivers were the real heroes. The interior feels loud and overly busy for the elegance it’s clearly trying hard to achieve, though I appreciate the effort to respect kashrus, which matters more. One guy judged me for banking the slow Canadian way, my only real complaint. The place is a home away from home when fate or circumstance forces me to “travel south of the border.” They seem very money-panicked, but that’s expected on the upper east side, at least in this 2026 economy. Four stars out of five.

The amenities are top-tier, and the staff are warm, professional, and ready to help. Dining is another highlight, with flavorful, expertly prepared food that’s beautifully presented, whether breakfast, a quick bite, or a full dinner. From arrival, The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel, feels elegant but welcoming, pairing modern comfort with classic sophistication. The décor and service both seem thoughtfully considered. A world-class luxury stay for comfort and exceptional service.

Javier and Miguel were friendly faces who greeted us and took good care of us. The service was wonderful and we were treated with real care. Our room was clean and comfortable. I recommend staying here.
