Days Inn by Wyndham Newark Wilmington

The mattress was comfortable, but the room wasn't as clean as I expected from a Wyndham hotel. There was rust around the tub and shower, holes in the couch, and stains on the couch and rug. The advertised breakfast included muffins, oatmeal, juice, and coffee, but there was no juice. We could find only one kind of packaged muffin, and no date stamp on it. There weren't any tables to sit at either.

The pool had green algae in it and a terrible, sickening smell. In the room, I found roaches, a missing fire alarm on the wall, mold all over the bathroom fan, and a stained rug. It was a horrible place to stay, and I regret going there. I've had a better stay at Motel 6 and would tell people to look elsewhere. It was dark and late when we arrived, and we were exhausted from the drive. The room wasn't well lit, so the problems I noticed in the morning hadn't stood out at first. The front desk person actually suggested I look at the room before paying to make sure it was okay, which was a first for me.

We only came in to sleep for one night while traveling, then got out of there fast. This was the worst hotel we've stayed in anywhere in the US. There was food left by previous guests in the fridge, water stains all over, a strong smell like an old ashtray, and disgusting carpets. The manager wasn't at the desk or available when we called. They refunded us $20.

We booked this place because it listed cribs on request, but after calling and emailing for a full week before our trip to ask for one, we were told at arrival that they didn't have any. We have a 1.5 year old and were counting on it. The pool was out of order too, and breakfast was canceled on Saturday morning. Our trip was ruined, since we'd chosen the hotel for those things. Be careful booking here, because they have zero amenities. The room was dirty as well, with gum stuck to the side of the bed. Ew.
