Motel Casa Downtown Guest House

The staff were kind and understanding, and I’d come back. My Turo rental broke down, and I was grateful to get a clean room here for 24 hours for $100. Turo left me sitting in a freezing car for hours because its policy requires the tow truck to take the faulty car before you can get another rental. People need to stop complaining. This is a quiet neighborhood on a street that meets a major road with a gas station, restaurants, and Shaq’s movie theater that he owns. He’s the former NBA player. I didn’t see bullets flying or robbers on the corner. I did see a homeless person on that road who could barely walk, but I wasn’t afraid of a man whose body had been destroyed by drugs. If anything, offer him some change and be kind. This isn’t a hotel, more like an empty boarding home with no tenants. I’m the only one here. The rooms are clean and perfect for a short stay.

The woman was nice, but the property needs a basic electrical inspection. The outlets are loose, the closets are dirty, and we had no hot water for two nights. The kitchen also isn’t fully equipped. The City of Newark should inspect short-term rentals.

The room and bathroom are always clean, and the people here are nice.

We had a great experience as a family. The lady was really sweet and kind.
