Super 8 by Wyndham Newcastle

There was hair all over the floor and on the sheets of both beds, plus trash left in the bathroom and in the bins. The pillows were stained and dirty, too. It looked like the room hadn’t been cleaned before it was rented out again.

The front desk guy was nice, and the room was extremely clean with no bugs. I stayed in room 117, which had a small crack in the door frame where bugs might possibly get in. The room itself was spacious and newly renovated, and the beds were firm but comfortable. It also had a coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge, and plenty of amenities. Great place to stay, highly recommend.

We only came through Newcastle because Google Maps sent us the wrong way, but we were lucky to find this motel. We had two moving trucks and our dog with us, and the hotel welcomed us warmly. Getting dinner that evening was difficult, so they went out of their way to help us find a very good meal. The care they showed during and after check-in felt unheard of these days and made us feel welcome in Wyoming. I wish more motels treated customers that way. If you’re in the area, this is an exceptional place to visit. I wish we could give them more than five stars.

The front desk lady was really nice and friendly, but the rest of the stay was terrible. The toilet was clogged and overflowed with one flush. There was something smeared on the wall in front of it, and a visible splash on the wall above the bed. The bathroom floor and tub had hair on them, and there were long brown hairs on the pillows and sheets, so I’m pretty sure the sheets weren’t fresh. The bedside table, its little shelf, and the floor had food crumbs, and both the bedside table and TV stand felt sticky. There was trash in the bin and dead bugs on the floor, with footprints still visible on what was meant to be a fresh, clean floor. I was so grossed out that we drove back to our town in the middle of the night instead of staying. I can’t believe the condition of this room. There was no standard of cleanliness at all. When I stay in a room, I don’t want to see evidence that someone else stayed there first.
