The breakfast wasn’t much to recommend, mostly bread and instant oatmeal. Everything else was lovely, though. It’s a quiet, cozy spot a few blocks from the main drag, with a pretty outdoor seating area where it looks like you can sometimes have a fire. The owner/manager was very nice and responsive to our questions. Our room was comfortable, the shower was larger with good water pressure, and the beds were wonderfully soft. A relaxing place to recharge.

The manager was friendly, professional, and attentive, and the service was excellent from check-in through checkout. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The Pines Country Inn has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that’s great for unwinding. I highly recommend it for the calm setting and hospitality.

We booked the cottage for three nights, but on arrival were told water damage had made it unavailable. We were moved to a smaller room and promised that the cottage or a suite would be ready the next day. That didn’t happen. After speaking by phone, the owner said he’d refund the remaining two nights, so we booked another place. He never returned the money and stopped answering when we called. I don’t trust the man.

We’d booked for three adults expecting two queen beds, but instead got a suite with two bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. What a nice surprise after a full day of driving and the late program at Mt Rushmore. Incredibly relaxing.

My son found this place for our road trip, and it was a great find. It’s tucked away off the beaten trail, very secluded and quiet, with rooms so large they feel more like suites. The place has been around for a while and is a little dated. Our bathroom was quite small and had two separate doors, which made things a bit awkward. Still, it’s a cool little place.
