Grantmoore Motor Lodge

I've usually taken one of the smaller rooms, which has a refrigerator and is somewhat cleaner. Today I booked a bigger, more expensive room, but the AC was bad and there was no refrigerator. I paid more for just the room, while the smaller one had all those extras for less. Then the office wanted another five dollars for an extra key, even though there are two of us in the room. This was my worst experience here. I don't know how the motel is still open. It used to be awesome.

I booked through booking.com. The staff were friendly and polite, and the manager on duty came to the room quickly when I reported the problems. He walked around and told me not to touch anything, especially the bathtub. When I asked for another room, he said most of them were the same, so he refunded my money. The room had a strong smoke smell, like people had been chain-smoking in it. The bathtub was dirty with a big ring of hair like you'd see in a sink after shaving, and there were pubic hairs on the toilet, which also leaked a little. Under the bed sheets I found crumbs and bugs. The pillows smelled like saliva, as if someone had drooled on them, and made me think the pillowcase hadn't been changed.

The location is great, but the place has really gone downhill over the years. It isn't the destination it was back in the 1970s.

The door lock was broken, and the dated 70s interior had major problems, including a nasty odor. There were bugs in the room, which was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Room service was so poor that unless you got up at the crack of dawn to fetch your own towels, you didn't get any. It's not worth a fraction of the price. Cheap for a reason doesn't even begin to cover it. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.
