MainStay Suites Newnan Atlanta South

Whenever I'm in Newnan, GA, this is where I stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, and both the rooms and shared spaces are kept clean and tidy. Breakfast is served each morning from 6-9a, with good food and service. I've never had an issue here.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the woman at checkout was very nice and apologized when I mentioned what we found. Still, the room wasn't very clean, and it looked like the shower hadn't been cleaned at all. One night the smoke alarms went off around midnight. I stepped into the hall to see what was going on, and the whole place smelled strongly of weed. I was told it was a false alarm because someone had been smoking in their room. We also found what looked like a bedbug exoskeleton on the nightstand. She said pest control had come Friday and sprayed. I'm not sure we'll stay again.

The housekeeper was easily the nicest person there, five stars for her. I did find a bug in our room, though, and breakfast was a bad experience. My children came down at 8:30, with breakfast ending at 9, but there was hardly anything left to eat. The woman serving it was extremely rude and seemed to make sure there wasn't enough. If there's a limit on what guests can take, it should be posted.

A guest told us at check-in that his room was dirty, and we should've taken that as a warning. Ours was filthy too: a roach on the nightstand, bugs in the shower, brown towels, and a nasty refrigerator. Staff said four other people had complained and they knew about the bugs, adding that “they” had just sprayed.
