Almondy Inn

The inn was spotless and charming, and shops and restaurants were an easy walk away. Both innkeepers were warm and friendly, and breakfast each morning was delicious. I woke up to the savory smell of bacon and sweet pastries. The Almondy Inn will be our go-to next time we’re in Newport.

The inn is close to just about everything, while still feeling quiet, private, and elegant. We felt welcome and special from the moment we arrived. Jerome offered us champagne for our anniversary and sent some to our room with a lovely card. Breakfast was delicious, and the freshly baked afternoon cookies were to die for. The next day, Shelby provided beach chairs, tips on where to take our bikes, and restaurant recommendations that were spot on. We’ll definitely return and spread the word to family and friends.

We love staying at B&Bs, and came across the Almondy Inn on Google while planning an overnight trip to Newport. Staying there was the highlight. John was friendly and hospitable, and he and Laurence create a wonderful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and downtown was an easy walk. At 5pm they serve wine and cheese for happy hour, and John set it up a few minutes early because we had early dinner reservations. Laurence cooked a five-star breakfast on Sunday. After checkout, John even invited us to leave our cars and use the inn as a base for restrooms and coffee while we shopped around town before heading home. Skip the corporate hotels and support this great little gem!

The hosts were friendly and easy to talk with, and our beautiful room looked out over the bay and surrounding area. The standout was breakfast, with homemade French pastries that were beautiful and tasty. It’s a great location for walking to the wharf, shops, restaurants, and the Cliff Walk.
