I found a roach in the room and showed the hostess a video when I checked out. She apologized and said she couldn't do anything because the manager wasn't there. I got no discount for dealing with it, and I won't return to this location or chain even if it were free. Best Western, 4.4 miles away at 1015 Cosby Hwy, Newport, TN 37821, will get my business when I'm back in the area. The room wasn't too bad otherwise, but there seemed to be water damage around a sprinkler, which had been stuffed with paper towels. The lobby A/C was out and it was super hot. It must have been set to 85 degrees and 90% humidity, because it was cooler outside all weekend. Edit: I'm not mistaken, and this isn't my legal name. See the attached photo taken from the Love's just beside your building, along with my redacted receipt. I wrote this review from the parking lot after checking out and being told, “I can't do anything, my manager isn't here right now,” after showing the roach video. I only got an apology. Have a day.

The rooms were filthy and terrible. Stained carpet, plugs dangling out of the sockets, and a stinking blanket with holes in it. It didn't feel safe at all. Spend a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else.

We stayed in room 106 with young children, and the noise from the pipes kept us up through the night. Whenever someone else in the building used water, it sounded like a jackhammer coming through the walls. There was also a domestic dispute in the room above us that went on for hours. The bathtub was rotting out at the bottom, pulling away from the wall, leaking water everywhere, and growing mold. A block of wood had been shoved into a hole as a makeshift repair. There were rusted stains inside the tub and rust-colored water coming from the pipe behind the toilet. The bench had a large unknown stain, there were holes in the walls near the beds, and the ceilings had disgusting stains. We want a full refund for our two-night stay, which cost $292. Edit: The owner's reply says they contacted me through Expedia, but my messages show no response. I've also emailed and called without hearing back.

Watch your card during and after the stay, because they may take extra charges. I paid online, taxes included, and still have the receipt. At the property they took $100 as a deposit, then charged another amount the next day for “taxes.” I'm reporting it as fraud and changing my card details.
