The views were spectacular, and the balcony and jacuzzi room was just right for unwinding. The room was clean and the stay was lovely, and I especially liked the built-in water filter at the kitchen sink for better-tasting tap water. The TVs were a different story. After a long day, we wanted to watch something, but neither worked properly. The newer Samsung by the bed and the very old living room TV were both frustrating to use. Cable wouldn't work, there was no streaming or casting, and the living room setup needed several boxes and remotes. We called the office because one remote had a Netflix button. Staff explained they had blocked streaming after guests forgot to sign out and later guests used their accounts, leading to complaints. I'd never run into that at a hotel, even abroad, and guests can remotely sign out with a few clicks. It didn't seem like a problem guests paying a premium should have to work around. Staff offered DVDs for the living room TV, which was kind, but felt a little silly in 2026. The TV in the bedroom didn't have a DVD player anyway. For the price, I'd expect a modern living room TV. If watching something matters to you, bring a Roku stick or an HDMI cable and laptop. Maybe that sounds dramatic, but it was a strange issue and explanation for a higher-end stay.

The attached restaurant was really good, though the prices were a little spendy, as expected. Everyone working here was nice and helpful, and the small workout room had enough to get a good session in, even if some equipment was worn out or broken and could use an upgrade. I stayed in a king room with a jacuzzi spa, which fit two people comfortably. It was clean and had a perfect little kitchenette. I also love that the place is pet friendly, even though I didn't bring my dogs this time. My friend had been bugging me to try it for years, and I'm glad I finally went. I'd recommend it to couples and will definitely be back.

That million-dollar view deserves a mention too. Colin made check-in easy, and Antonio helped us get a few extra things for the room. The whole staff was friendly and courteous, and I think they were a big reason our stay was so wonderful. Room service from Georgie’s was quick and delicious. My wife and I are looking forward to coming back.

We'd enjoyed our previous stay so much that we booked again for Valentine's Day weekend this year, but we came down with the flu just before the trip and couldn't go. The reservation specialist I spoke with handled the situation impeccably. They were amazing, and the hotel has my continued business. I'll recommend it for life.

For an anniversary trip, I prefer the more romantic, walkable charm of their Cannon Beach location. This Newport hotel seems better suited to families. The setting and hotel itself felt pretty unremarkable, and the food from Georgie's, which is also affiliated directly with Hallmark, was mediocre.
