Our room wasn’t ready at the 3 pm check-in time, though I’m sure that isn’t the usual. Otherwise, we absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms were bright, airy, very clean, in nice shape, and had comfortable beds and good-sized bathrooms. The location was great, and the room size was fantastic for the price. My wife and I visited Newport with two other couples, who stayed at a nearby hotel that cost 80% more. They were jealous of our room, and all six of us ended up using it each evening for drinks and games. Next time we’re all in Newport, I think all three couples will stay at the Newport Bay Club & Hotel.

The location was good, but the rooms are outdated and management overnight was weak. Guests upstairs made noise from 5 pm to 10:25 pm, with kids screaming, jumping on beds, and running around while adults yelled at them to shut up. We asked the front desk to speak with them, but the night manager was afraid to go up. He blamed my husband and me, said we were being difficult, and threatened to throw us out. I called Booking.com to complain, and the customer service agent could hear the noise through the phone. As I’m writing this, the kids upstairs are still screaming.

Tim at the front desk made our elopement trip feel special. He was upbeat, helpful, checked that we had what we needed, and even brought us a bottle of wine after we got married. My husband and I came from Pennsylvania looking for somewhere in Newport where we could walk back after exploring, and Newport Bay Club and Hotel was a great fit. The room was spotless and the staff were so accommodating. We left feeling incredibly grateful for our first visit and already want to return every year. Thanks for making us feel at home and helping us enjoy Newport. If you're looking for a reason to book, here's one!

Our room was on the top floor, with steps up to the loft once we got inside. There was also a nice balcony facing the water. Paying $40 for 24 hours of parking seemed like a good deal compared with the other lots in such a busy area, and we could take our car whenever we wanted. It was easy to walk to things from the hotel, too.
